Recent years have seen the development of Ni-rich transition metal oxide cathode materials due to their high reversible capacity and lower cost. To achieve full capacity from the charge compensation process, a high voltage (>4.4 V) charging is required. However, the battery operation at higher voltages eventually results in dramatic capacity fading and voltage decay with a rapid decomposition of the electrolyte upon further charge-discharge. While previous studies have reported the degradation mechanism within the electrode surface, there have been few empirical investigations into the solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) formation on Ni-rich cathodes. In the current work, we visualize the different nature of the electrode-electrolyte interphase at various cut-off voltages (2.0-4.2 V, 2.0-4.5 V, and 2.0-4.8 V). We correlate the key properties of the SEI layer with the capacity fading mechanism in the high capacity battery system. The speciation of transition metal elements (Ni, Mn, and Co) into various oxidation and spin states has been identified as the dominant process of the capacity degradation.","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_10001_publisher_8":{"attribute_name":"Publisher","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_publisher":"Royal Society of Chemistry"}]},"item_10001_relation_14":{"attribute_name":"DOI","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type":"isIdenticalTo","subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"info:doi/10.1039/C8TA02622J","subitem_relation_type_select":"DOI"}}]},"item_10001_relation_16":{"attribute_name":"情報源","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_name":[{"subitem_relation_name_text":"https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/"}]}]},"item_10001_relation_17":{"attribute_name":"Related site","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_relation_type_id":{"subitem_relation_type_id_text":"https://pubs.rsc.org/en/content/articlelanding/2018/ta/c8ta02622j#!divAbstract","subitem_relation_type_select":"URI"}}]},"item_10001_rights_15":{"attribute_name":"Rights","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_rights":"© 2018 The Royal Society of Chemistry."}]},"item_10001_source_id_9":{"attribute_name":"ISSN","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"2050-7488","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"},{"subitem_source_identifier":"2050-7496","subitem_source_identifier_type":"ISSN"}]},"item_10001_version_type_20":{"attribute_name":"Author's flag","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_version_resource":"http://purl.org/coar/version/c_970fb48d4fbd8a85","subitem_version_type":"VoR"}]},"item_files":{"attribute_name":"ファイル情報","attribute_type":"file","attribute_value_mlt":[{"accessrole":"open_date","date":[{"dateType":"Available","dateValue":"2019-06-27"}],"displaytype":"detail","filename":"Kim-2018-Transition metal speciation as a degr.pdf","filesize":[{"value":"2.5 MB"}],"format":"application/pdf","licensetype":"license_6","mimetype":"application/pdf","url":{"label":"Kim-2018-Transition metal speciation as a degr","url":"https://oist.repo.nii.ac.jp/record/969/files/Kim-2018-Transition metal speciation as a degr.pdf"},"version_id":"2ae68387-8910-487d-83eb-86d6c64579b8"}]},"item_language":{"attribute_name":"言語","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_language":"eng"}]},"item_resource_type":{"attribute_name":"資源タイプ","attribute_value_mlt":[{"resourcetype":"journal article","resourceuri":"http://purl.org/coar/resource_type/c_6501"}]},"item_title":"Transition metal speciation as a degradation mechanism with the formation of a solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) in Ni-rich transition metal oxide cathodes","item_titles":{"attribute_name":"タイトル","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_title":"Transition metal speciation as a degradation mechanism with the formation of a solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) in Ni-rich transition metal oxide cathodes","subitem_title_language":"en"}]},"item_type_id":"10001","owner":"28","path":["48"],"pubdate":{"attribute_name":"公開日","attribute_value":"2019-06-27"},"publish_date":"2019-06-27","publish_status":"0","recid":"969","relation_version_is_last":true,"title":["Transition metal speciation as a degradation mechanism with the formation of a solid-electrolyte interphase (SEI) in Ni-rich transition metal oxide cathodes"],"weko_creator_id":"28","weko_shared_id":28},"updated":"2023-06-26T11:59:29.477878+00:00"}
